Schneider-Brothers.co.uk is designed with accessibility as a core usability requirement rather than a separate visual mode.
Measures included in this build
The site uses semantic headings and landmarks, a keyboard-accessible navigation structure, a skip link, visible focus indicators, labelled form controls and responsive layouts. Images used for content have descriptive alternative text. Decorative visual treatments are created mainly with CSS and do not carry misleading alt text.
The hero slider responds to the prefers-reduced-motion setting. When reduced motion is requested, automatic motion and transitions are suppressed. Text and controls are designed for strong contrast against their backgrounds, and the layout is intended to reflow without horizontal scrolling on common mobile widths.
Known limitations
Accessibility depends partly on the final hosting environment and any third-party tools added after deployment. Advertising scripts, consent banners, analytics widgets, chat tools or embedded media can introduce new keyboard, focus, contrast or screen-reader issues. They should be tested before launch and after significant updates.
Contacting us about accessibility
If you experience a barrier, use the Contact page and describe the page, device, browser and assistive technology where possible. That information helps reproduce the problem. Accessibility feedback should be treated as a quality issue and prioritised according to impact.
Ongoing review
New templates and components should be checked for logical heading structure, keyboard operation, focus order, form labelling, zoom behaviour, reduced-motion support and readable contrast. Automated testing can identify some defects, but manual keyboard and screen-reader checks remain important.
